Datasets

For the practical applications in this course we will use three datasets:

  1. Monthly CPS data from IPUMS.
  2. County-level panel data on entry and exit of club stores from Dearing and Blevins (2024)
  3. PSID panel data on earnings, consumption, and assets from Arellano, Blundell, and Bonhomme (2018)

These data are included in the course git repo, and you should be able to run all of the example code in this class using the relative file paths in the git repo if you clone it. Alternatively you can download these datasets and save them wherever you wish, but you will need to edit file paths accordingly.
